The story of a Polish ambulance unit stationed in the historic burgh of Linlithgow. 1 MAC, (1 Motorowy Ambulans Konwoj), was initially formed as a small unit of around 40 personnel in the town of Newburgh, Fife, as part of the Polish 1st Corps (1 Korpusu Polskiego) of the Polish Army in exile, which was tasked with the defence of the Scottish east coast, during the early years of the second world war following the fall of France and the Dunkirk evacuation.
